Some of you may remember Tina (Chaves) Kauffman-Krol, a research technician in the Optics group from 2001 to 2005. A couple of years ago, Tina fought and beat breast cancer. Unfortunately, she recently learned that the cancer is active and has metastasized to her liver. It is advanced Stage 4 and inoperable.We are devastated by this news.
Friends of Tina’s have set up a GoFundMe page. She can no longer work and her husband is doing everything he can to help her and their two beautiful children through this heart-rending time. If you knew Tina – and even if you didn’t – please consider contributing any amount to help lessen the financial burden, so she and her family can spend their time together. As she wrote yesterday in her CaringBridge journal:
“Doesnt matter what we do as long as we are together. I’m not going to call it a Bucket List, but rather Making Memories. These moments are precious and I soak up every single second.”
